PAT Projects, Inc., (PAT), is a not-for-profit corporation providing research, technical and educational publications, and multimedia productions for the preservation of aerospace technology.
PAT develops applied aerospace educational products through a unique teaming arrangement of grade K-12 teachers with a pool of the nation;s most qualified test pilots and engineers. This work is partially funded by the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center. We show the student real-world applications of classroom subjects through interactive computer based training on World Wide Web sites, school intranets, CDs for personal computers, as well as traditional text publications. PAT s products emphasize decision making and give the student an appreciation of the need to integrate many different skills such as math, science, and communications in the process.
Aerospace technology has evolved a new approach to integrated learning and PAT highly qualified staff is dedicated to transferring this approach to the nations education system. Application of this approach by schools and teachers offers a new teaching method for students in grades K-12 and in higher education. This application oriented integrated teaching method is an excellent way to inspire students to pursue careers using math, science, and communication skills. Since the workplace demands a greater amount of skills and knowledge integration in problem solving, it is very important for schools to provide for the inspiration and understanding of integrated learning.
PAT s mission is to: Translate lessons learned in aerospace technology to inspire students to pursue careers that use math, science and communications skills.
